Biliana’s post 2004 bodies of work consist of two major types: Figurative Objects and Objects of Function. The figurative focusses on the female figure in today’s society and addresses gender roles, the fragility of inner peace and the impact of domestic violence. In the Objects of Function, she is trying to convey to the viewer a visual essence of our lives and surroundings through contracting black and white lines and vivid colors.

Biliana will demonstrate her techniques for surface decoration, tape resist and the use of engobes, and you will use these techniques to work on the pieces that you bring to the workshop.

You will need to prepare two small pieces (cups, bowls, and vases) that have been bisque fired to Cone 6 or 10 with a liner glaze - glazed on the inside. 25 person limit for workshop.
