Workshop • Aug. 31st & Sept 1st•

Ruthanne is an American artist living in England and will present a hands on workshop of her techniques for throwing - this workshop is not suitable for beginners. If she were to make a teapot, her technique is to sit down at the wheel, throw the body then add the handle, spout, lid and trim the bottom without getting up from the wheel. All at one time.

You will have two opportunities to attend this workshop that will be held at the Ojai Clay School - Saturday August 31 and on Sunday September 1st. WORKSHOP FLYER

Ventura (805) 644-6800

Meet the artist August 12, 20 and 29th, 2:30 - 6 pm

Come see the work of our newest artist Terry Wilson.

“I am an artist in Ventura having worked in a variety of media over the years, usually exploring nature and abstractions drawn from patterns found throughout the plant world.

I work in porcelain and hand build my pieces. I am also a silversmith and lapidary artist.

Open Daily 11am-6pm

September 7th - The Beauteous Bowl Bonanza

We might say that we will Bowl You Over with the new show at the Ventura County Potters’ Guild Gallery. Sounds cheeky considering we are presenting a ceramic bowl show and sale; but we really will bowl you over with hundreds of hand-made, unique, sculptural, decorative and functional bowls. Over thirty artists will put their original styles on bowls for salads, ice cream, cereal, pasta, center pieces, serving, and even some dog bowls. Colors will match every pallet and the multi-colored ones are perfect for those who can’t decide.

We invite everyone to come meet the artists and to learn about the technical elements and creative inspirations of each piece. Our functional ceramic bowls are food and microwave safe.

Don’t forget to register for a FREE raffle ticket to win a lovely decorative bowl donated by Sandy Swanson. The drawing will be at 5 PM and the winner does not need to be present. Stop by the galley any time after September 1 for a free raffle ticket.

November 3rd Requesting bowls for the Bowl of Thanks

The 3rd Bowl of Thanks returns to the Ventura Harbor Village.

Cecile is hoping to gather 200 donated bowls this year. The restaurants are again participating with samples of their specialities for those that purchase the fundraiser bowls for $25 a piece.

November 3rd, 2019 is this year's date. We've managed to donate 100% of the money collected and will continue to do so. This year's recipients will be the Ventura County Humane Society/Ojai and the Ojai Valley Family Shelter. Both were very instrumental in helping the residents and animals in need during the Thomas Fire.

I'd love to get more sponsorships with our guild member's help. If you work with or know of a bank or company that would sponsor this fundraiser, the donated amount will be able to further help these 2 non-profits.

Please donate bowls! Contact Cecile with a pledge of bowls you can promise so we can get to 200. [email protected] 805 754-6380
