VCPG Dreambox workshop /June 24th, 2018 at Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts.

This was a 1/2 day hands on workshop making dream boxes. If you have never taken a workshop at BWCA that alone is an wonderful experience: working outside with a gentle breeze, beautiful views of Upper Ojai, experiencing the peaceful aura of the center and working in clay.

What are Dream Boxes? The Legend of the Dream box (often attributed to Lemuria) suggests writing down your fondest dream, greatest desire, and strongest wish on a small piece of paper putting that paper in a Dream box placing it beside your bed. Every evening as you retire and every morning as you rise hold your Dream box and think of your dream believing with all your heart that it is so. Legend has it if done faithfully … your dream will come true.

All the participants enjoyed the inspiring introduction to the Dream Box concept and how it relates to art through history by Kevin Wallace, the centers director, then we adjourned  to the lovely patio under a huge Oak tree to create our Dream Boxes.  What a beautiful and serene environment punctuated with the stories and laughter of friends, old and new.

This already delightful day was then made even sweeter with our delicious lunch prepared and served by Kevin and his staff.

We all look forward to returning to the Center soon.
