Guild meetings are held remotely (with the occasional in-person exception) and open to the public; non-members interested in receiving an invitation and future Guild updates, please make a request using this contact form.
General Guild meetings are open to the public and focus on a presentation or demonstration. The primary purpose of the meetings is to enrich our members’ and the public’s appreciation and knowledge of ceramics. The Guild meets monthly. See “Upcoming Events” for dates and times. More information about the Guild’s activities is also available on Facebook and Instagram. Please follow us!
What better way to celebrate a new and more relaxed summer 2022 scene than to come to Libby Park in beautiful Ojai during the Music Festival, June 11 and 12, and experience the Open Air Pottery Market put on by the Ventura Potters’ Guild. Over 30 clay artists will be there displaying their unique handmade pottery. Students from the Ventura College Clay Club will provide wheel throwing demonstrations throughout both days of the event.
Come shop for mugs and goblets, bowls and casseroles, plates and platters, earrings and necklaces, tiles and paperweights, sculptures and teapots, and much more, all fashioned from clay by Ventura Potters’ Guild artists. Visit with the artists and learn how they create their pieces, from hand-building a garden sculpture to throwing a dinner plate on the wheel. See the participants here!
The Guild makes quarterly clay and supply orders from Aardvark and Laguna as one of our greatest Plus Tier member benefits! By ordering as a group, we get favorable shipping and excellent quantity discounts on clay. Besides clay, you can order anything from their catalogs, such as glazes, tools, kiln shelves/furniture, and bulk raw materials. The orders arrive within days of each other at a Guild member’s home in Ventura where you will pick up and pay for your order. Keep a shopping list going; we start collecting your orders about a month ahead of the delivery date. Updates on orders are provided via Announcements through MemberConnect. If you have any questions, please send them through our contact form. Please note that you must be a Plus Tier member to participate in the clay ordering.

VCPG at Beatrice Wood Art Center – “It’s About Time”
Attention all VCPG Members:
Application, Images & Fee Due Date: August 14
Event Dates: September 17 – October 29
There are many ways to show the passage of time: clocks, calendars,
changing seasons and human life (childhood to old age). There is the
contrast of the past, present and future. You can address these many
aspects of time through form and surface design. See Newsletter for more information and application.
